Privacy Policy

Effective date: 3 November 2026

EPS TOPIK TIP: UBT Test Prep is provided by Loyd Lab, an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains how the app and this website handle data. Contact: kimloydmail@gmail.com.

1. No registration or personal profile

The app does not ask you to create an account, log in, or provide a name or email address. Firebase Anonymous Authentication creates a random user ID for purchase entitlement services. This ID is a technical identifier, not a named account. The app does not request microphone, camera or photo library access.

2. Study data stays on your device

Your answers, practice and mock test history, wrong-answer notes, records by type, vocabulary progress, language and country choices, test date, study plan and reminder preferences are saved on your device using shared_preferences. In the current EPS app, these study records are not uploaded to Cloud Firestore or synchronised as a cloud study backup. Separate usage analytics, described below, can record events about practice activity.

3. Anonymous ID and purchase verification

Firebase Anonymous Authentication provides a random ID. Cloud Firestore stores the purchase entitlement record associated with that ID, including Premium status and subscription expiry or lifetime entitlement. Cloud Functions verifies purchases with Apple or Google using the product ID and store transaction ID or purchase token. These services support unlocking, restoring and maintaining Premium access and preventing invalid purchase claims.

Apple and Google process payments through in_app_purchase. We do not receive your full card number or payment credentials. Store transaction and entitlement records are distinct from your local study history.

4. Analytics and crash reports

The app includes and enables Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Analytics records usage events, such as onboarding choices, practice and mock test activity, and purchase interactions, along with technical information such as app version, device and operating system information and app instance identifiers. Crashlytics collects crash diagnostics, error details and related device information to help identify and fix problems. These services process information separately from the local study records.

5. Advertising and consent

The free app displays advertising through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). The advertising SDK may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device information, ad interactions and diagnostics to provide and measure ads and prevent fraud. Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) presents consent information and choices where required. On iOS, App Tracking Transparency requests tracking permission when applicable. You can manage tracking permission in iOS Settings. Consent and device settings affect how advertising data is used. Premium removes ads.

6. Study reminders

With notification permission, the app schedules local study reminders on your device. Reminder time and preferences are stored locally. You can turn reminders off in the app or revoke notification permission in device settings. Local reminders do not require microphone, camera or photo access.

7. Support and website visits

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to send. We use it to answer your request or handle data deletion. Please do not send payment card details or unnecessary personal information.

This website is a static information site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It does not include the app's Firebase or AdMob SDKs or an account form. The hosting provider processes ordinary request information, such as IP address and requested URL, to deliver and secure the site. Following a store or third-party link is subject to that provider's privacy policy.

8. Purposes, providers and international processing

We use data to provide purchase access, respond to support, understand app use, diagnose faults and deliver advertising with applicable consent. Where UK data protection law applies, our bases are providing requested services, legitimate interests in operating and improving the app, meeting legal obligations, and consent where required for advertising or tracking. You may withdraw consent where it applies without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Google/Firebase, Apple, Google Play and Cloudflare process information to provide their respective services. Their systems may process data outside the United Kingdom under their applicable data protection arrangements. We do not sell your personal information.

Provider information: Firebase privacy, Google privacy, Google advertising data use, Apple privacy, Cloudflare privacy.

9. Retention and deletion

Local study data remains on the device until removed. Uninstalling the app removes its local data; device or operating system backups may be managed separately in your device settings. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription or automatically delete server data.

To request deletion of server data, including the anonymous user ID and associated entitlement record, email kimloydmail@gmail.com. If available, include the anonymous ID or a store order reference so we can locate the record. We may need further information to identify it because the app does not collect an email address or name. Contact us before uninstalling if you need help identifying your record. Deleting entitlement data can affect Premium access. Cancel any subscription separately through Apple or Google.

Server purchase data is retained as needed to verify and restore entitlements, resolve purchase issues and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the request and any related obligations. Analytics, crash and advertising data are also subject to the relevant provider's retention and deletion processes. Apple and Google retain their own payment records under their policies.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction of personal data, object to certain processing, or request portability. Email the contact address above. Because records use anonymous technical IDs, we may need information to locate the relevant record. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority.

11. Changes and contact

We will update this policy when the app's data practices change and revise the effective date. For privacy or deletion requests, contact Loyd Lab at kimloydmail@gmail.com.
